Porch Talk - The Wildlands Trust

Our seasonal porch talk series continued on Sunday August 24 with a presentation by Karen Grey, President of the Wildlands Trust. 

Since 1973, the Wildlands Trust has been protecting land and water across the southeastern region of Massachusetts.  The organization has conserved over 14,000 acres of land in 59 cities and towns.

Karen shared the story of how the 1973 arrival of a nuclear power plant in Plymouth led to the creation of the Wildlands Trust.  Some 52 years later, as that power plant is decommissioned, Karen discussed the options for the 1,600 acres of coastal forest currently owned by Holtec.
